Women's Advent Bible Study

Joy to the world, the Lord is come. The opening line of this classic Christmas carol captures the delight and awe that surrounded Jesus’ birth. But how often does the Christmas season feel stressful rather than joyful? Why do we trade “all is calm” for all is chaos?

In this 4-session Bible study, you’ll spend the weeks of Advent learning to celebrate the good news of great joy found in the Christmas story. Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth to save us from our sins and sorrow and to make right our relationship with God. And He will return to finish setting everything right. With daily personal study, suggestions for family devotions, and engaging activities to transform your study experience, this beautiful resource will help you delight in Jesus' birth and joyfully anticipate His return this Christmas season and all year long.

Join us on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM beginning November 13 in Room 112/113. Cost: $16

Students Reality Apologetics Conference

At STR’s Reality Conference, we show students that Christianity matches up with the way the world really is—with reality. It makes sense of the origin and design of the universe and life; the existence of objective truth and morality; the purpose, meaning, and value of human experience; the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus; and the existential longing of every human heart. In other words, we have reality on our side.

Unfortunately, many students are under the impression that Christianity is make-believe for grown-ups. At REALITY, we’re changing that by using our greatest ally: Reality. Christianity isn’t a made-up story divorced from reality; it is the true story of reality.

Who: 6–12 Grade Students ready to dive deep in Apologetics

When: Friday, November 8, 4 PM – Saturday, November 9, 7 PM

Where: We will meet at church and travel together to Grace Church, Eden Prairie. (We will stay overnight at the church.)

Cost: $80 ($10 off if you register before October 17.) Includes conference and all meals.

Deadline: Sign up by October 27, midnight.

"The 1916 Project" Film Showing

In 2019, the New York Times released “The 1619 Project” in an attempt to rewrite history on the beginnings of American slavery, highlighting the systemic racism behind the largest human rights violation in history – until now. From 1900-2000, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler and Margaret Sanger would spill more innocent blood in the name of eugenics and “progress” than all of previous warlords, tyrants and murderers in human history combined. How did this happen, and how is everything happening today connected? If we want to understand what ideas and individuals brought us third-trimester abortions, infanticide, euthanasia, pornographic “sex-ed,” critical race theory, transgenderism, trans-ing children, drag queen story hour to children, arresting pro-life sidewalk counselors, and labeling parents who speak at school board meetings as “domestic terrorists,” we have to go back to 1916, when Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger opened up her first illegal birth control clinic in the Brownsville section of New York, an area heavily populated by those she deemed “unfit” to reproduce.

Seth Gruber and The White Rose Resistance are launching “The 1916 Project” – a groundbreaking documentary to pull back the curtain and expose the hidden history of the secular moral revolution, while equipping the church to understand the times, resist evil, and rebuild a culture of life.

The son of a pregnancy resource center director, Seth Gruber, was helping save unborn children from abortion while still in his mother's womb. He has been a voice and defender for preborn babies ever since. As a leading voice in the pro-life movement, Seth has spoken more than 300 times to over half a million people. He is the host of The Seth Gruber Show (FKA, UnAborted with Seth Gruber) and travels as a speaker to educate the public, discredit the opposition, and inspire the Church to end the great evil of our time.

Seth founded “The White Rose Resistance” in 2022, which has quickly become the fastest-growing pro-life ministry in America. This summer, Seth will launch a new book and a vital documentary, "The 1916 Project," to further awaken the American Church to her pivotal role in today’s culture war. At thirty-two, Seth's passionate work for the preborn, The Church, and America is just getting started.

Join us Friday, October 25 at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary for the showing of “The 1916 Project.”

Pastor Appreciation Month

Pastor Appreciation Month in October is a great opportunity for individuals and the church, as a whole, to show love and appreciation for our pastors. Pastors are ordinary human beings, with limited energy, time, and strength. They have down days and challenges to their faith, just as we all do. God tell us that the elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor (1 Timothy 5:17), and he asks us to honor those leaders who work so hard for all of us.

Perhaps you can give a card, gift, meal, note or gift card as a thank you. You can pray for our pastors on a daily basis. There are many ways to show that you love and appreciate our staff. Thank you for being part of Revive Church.

Marxism & the Church Study

Marxism is anti-biblical, but it has made big strides within the church and society. Believers and the church are called to represent the truth, whether it is popular or not. In this small group we will use authors Owen Strachan and Voddie Baucham Jr. to understand why Critical Race Theory, with its Marxist principles, is irreconcilable with Biblical Christianity. Author Eric Metaxas will help us to understand the Church’s call to action in these matters by examining the Church’s failure during the rise of Nazi Germany, and the parallels with our current age. Lastly, the group will brainstorm how we apply what we’ve learned to influence the culture in our own spheres.

Part 1: Christianity and Wokeness by Owen Strachan. Members will need to purchase this book. Timeframe: September through December 2024 (Cost: $15 this Fall)

Part 2: Fault Lines by Voddie T. Baucham Jr. We will cover selected sections of this book, not the entire thing. There is a limited supply of this book available from the Church. If we outrun the supply, then the purchase of this book is required. Timeframe: January through mid-February, 2025

Part 3: Letter to the American Church by Eric Metaxas. This book is not required. We will watch the documentary by the same name and use selected readings from the book. Timeframe: Mid-February through mid-March 2025

Part 4: Call to Action: How do you want to impact the culture? Timeframe: Mid-March through April 2025
